Volunteer Opportunities

 

Client Care

 

– Client Advocate 

A client advocate at Soundview Pregnancy Services has a support role in clients’ education, emotional support, and assistance. This position is supervised by the respective Client Service Manager at each location. Training is required and provided for this role. Time requirements: 1 day per week/1-2 hour shift. Minimum of 1-year term commitment.

– Patient Advocate 

A patient advocate at Soundview Pregnancy Services has a support role in clients’ emotional support and chaperoning during their clinical appointments with the on-site medical team. This position is supervised by the respective Client Service Manager at each location.  Training is required and provided for this role. Time requirements: 1 day per week / 4-hour shift. Minimum of 1-year term commitment.

– Volunteer Online Chat Box Advocate

Provide compassionate and timely support to potential clients through our online communication platform. This role is ideal for individuals who are comfortable using technology and have strong written communication skills. Responsibilities include: engaging with potential clients via online chat, providing information and support, respond promptly and professionally to inquiries, and maintaining confidentiality. Training will be provided. Time requirements: 1 day per week / 4 hours shift. Minimum one-year commitment required.

– Volunteer Front Desk Receptionist

This position play a vital support role in our offices, serving as the first point of contact for our clients while supporting both our client services team and onsite medical staff. Responsibilities may include: greeting and checking in/out clients, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and providing administrative support when needed. Training on our systems will be provided but good computer skills are required for this position. Time requirements: 1 Saturday per month/ 5-hour shift. Other opportunities during the week may be available. Minimum of 1-year term commitment.

– Language Interpreter

Volunteer Interpreters are needed for translation during clinical appointments. Medical Interpretation Certification is required. Time commitment required: varies depending on your availability

Medical Care

 

– Volunteer Licensed RNs or RDMS

Medical volunteers will work under the direction of the OB/GYN medical director to provide on-site pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, and education to our patients with compassion and kindness. Volunteers must be willing to be trained in performing limited OB ultrasounds. Training is required and provided for this position. Must be certified in OB/GYN care. Time requirements: 1 day per week / 8-hour shift. Minimum of 1-year term commitment.

– Volunteer Telehealth Nurse

Volunteer Licensed Registered Nurses and Advanced Medical Providers will work under the direction of the OB/GYN medical director to lovingly and professionally conduct virtual Telehealth appointments. This will include patient triage, assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, and education over the online Telehealth platform provided by the office.  Training is required and provided for this position. Appointments will be conducted remotely; equipment will be provided. Time requirements: 1 day per week / 4-hour shift. Minimum of 1-year term commitment.

– Volunteer Medical Educators

Volunteer Educators will provide educational classes for pregnant moms and new parents. Curriculum and training are provided for teaching. Classes are conducted both in person and online via Zoom. An RN, doula, midwife, or allied health professional license is required. Time commitment required: varies depending on your availability.

Development & Marketing

 

– Baby Bottle Drive Team

Baby Bottle Volunteers assist the Baby Bottle Manager in preparing baby bottle kits for upcoming drives through local churches and organizations and in counting total contributions from drives. In addition, volunteers assist the church with the distribution/collection of bottles during their Sunday morning services or events. Must be knowledgeable of Soundview’s services and mission. This position is supervised by both the Baby Bottle Manager and the Director of Development. 

– Event Team

Event Team members primarily serve at information tables at various types of outreach events during the year, such as: Soundview events- Walk for Life, Annual Banquet, and other types of fundraisers. They also serve at other “Christian centric” events at partnering churches, Missions events, Worship Nights, etc. As well as at “secular” events that reach out to the community to increase awareness and engagement, as well as to provide “client marketing” to let our community know that Soundview is here for them and to share our services with them. This position is supervised by the Director of Development. We provide the training, and the volunteer must become proficient in the knowledge of our mission, vision, and methods on how to present Soundview to various types of demographics.

– Youth Advisory Team

The Youth Advisory Council is a board subcommittee that engages with young adults to identify and implement ways to grow the ministry and impact the next generation for LIFE.
